ETYMOLOGY

Sangha in Sanskrit refers to association or community;

Sangam in Tamil refers to community or fraternity;

Sangathan in Hindi refers to an organization or a firm built for a purpose;

Sanghatana in Telugu refers to events or an occurrence.

Sangatna therefore, represents connections made for the community, by the community. Women connecting with other women, building connections, networks and support systems for other women.

PURPOSE

Sangatna Angels was founded with the below objectives

  • Enable women to stay in their entrepreneurship journey

  • Tackle gender bias in the investment space

  • Effect social impact by funding mindful businesses

As a firm, we invite like-minded people to join our community to help build a portfolio of investments and invest in others who are trying to build social impact organizations.

WHY SANGATNA

We believe that the success of our women entrepreneurs should be defined through the measurement of impact they are creating. Sangatna will work with them to measure the outcome of the impact they are creating. This  helps understand how the organization is effecting change through social return on investment as well as allows us to measure the financial value of the impact.

This way, investors can see exactly where their investment is being deployed and how it positively affects one (or all) of our chosen impact areas.

Finally, stating the obvious. We are a community of women, built exclusively for women. We believe, live and walk the talk of lifting up other women. The ecosystem we are creating will ensure the continuance and success of women in the workplace.

Our vision is simple - Invest in Women. Invest in the Future
